Thesis Statement

The life of others and the life of our owns, should not be left in the hands of an irresponsible eighteen year old. The drinking age therefore should remain at twenty one due to the maturity level, the irresponsible acts, and all of the inexperience of an eighteen year old.

  1. very true and it is very obvious that 18 year olds are not mature enough to handle alcohol in the rates of drug related teen car accidents.

  2. i also agree the drinking age should remain the same. There are to many teens these days who already abuse alcohol, lowering the age will only make things worse!

  3. i agree. Most of the teens in my opinion are not very responsible, and their deicision making wise isn't that great either. They need to know what to do and not to do.

  4. I disagree, because of the fact that an 18 year old can enlist in the army. If he/she is said to be so immature and irresponsible, then why does America depend on him/her to fight for the freedom of our country. If they have poor decision making skills then why would we give them the right to fight for us and hold a gun? Either lower the drinking ages, or raise the age of eligibility to join the armed services.

  5. I like how you don't exactly give a solution, but give great reasons for keeping it to not change at all! Good topic, really like it.

  7. I like you idea, but then again, why are 18 year olds allowed to enlist to erve our country?

  8. Because Fighting In A War Doesnt Effect Your Decision Making, Alcohol Does.

  9. You should probably work on your sentence structure, it sounds awkward. Just say "and the inexperience of 18 year olds" as opposed to "and all of the inexperience of an eighteen year old".
